Twenty years ago, I got into the travel industry because I truly believed that we as humans, can expand our horizons when we travel. When we see how beautiful and fragile this planet and all its beings are, we would want to care for it. If we sit down to break bread with a stranger, we will try to understand his or her point of view even if we don’t agree with it. I have personally found myself overcoming biases, learning to be less judgmental and keeping an open mind as I made my way around the world. My heart intuitively wants to connect through love, tolerance, sympathy and peace, more than anything else.
Today it is more important than ever for us as travel industry leaders to highlight the stories of kindness, unity and community. You have the most important job in this world, and can make a much bigger impact in shaping it, than say some of our political leaders.
